Found this browsing Wikipedia about Japanese baseball after I heard the Hokkaido Ham fighters pitcher (Yu Darvish) was going to start playing in America this year. This guys Nomura thought had an interesting beginning life. Born from a marriage from his American dad and Japanese mom, in the early years after WW2. His mom left his family at age 6, leaving his dad to raise him and his brother.
Really cool and interesting story.
